  • LOCAL MARKETS

Every week, there is a market somewhere. The Rainbow Region is famous for its trade and craft markets, where people from all walks of life gather to sell their wares and shop for food, clothes, tools and art.

Nimbin has a market held at the Community Centre every third and fifth Sunday of the month.

It is especially worth the trip to see the Channon Market, which is held every second Sunday of the month. With a large number of market stalls to browse, you can stay until the evening to watch the famous drum circle come to life as people pour into the main area to dance and enjoy themselves, accompanied by great fire shows.

  • PROTESTERS FALLS

The Protesters Falls, located in the World Heritage Nightcap National Park, got its name after the first successful anti-logging protest that took place there in 1975.

It ensured the preservation of this breath-taking piece of jungle, as well as many endangered species who call it home.

No swimming allowed, as this area is home to the endangered Fleay's barred frog. Nonetheless, it is still a beautiful short hike through the jungle to see the waterfall with excellent photo opportunities all along.
